Reintroduction of Bison...   Priority would be space and land,  lots of land.  If that was not available, as much land as possible.  We cant simply throw a captive bison into the wild and say good luck and reproduce...  Its would take a generation, maybe two for them to get the wild instincts back and start roaming as they did.  So ti would seem that we have to more or less be their little "watcher overers" for a little bit so they can adapt at their own and best pace possible.  Also, do our best to make sure an abundant food source was around.  Because as we have seen with humans and deer and most every other animal that has an abundant food source, reproduction significantly increases. In time, we could reset the natural balance, for sure.  But that might mean that some people need to leave the area to provide enough land and roaming for the bison.  But yes, it can be done although I don't think it will ever be like it was, unle...

I think it is great, especially in a an ideal world.  But unfortunately we don't live in an ideal world, as I am sure we have all notices.  Number 3, having to do with not reducing the richness and diversity is a wonderful concept, but again, unfortunately, there will always be a person that will exploit anything to make their money and that is just the way it is.  Ecosystems, strong and fragile... Well, ecosystems rely on every last part of it to flourish and survive.  So if even the smallest participant in an ecosystem is to be removed, them is pulls the rug out from something else.  The effects are not always measurable, but there will always be a repercussion.  Just like the gopher civilization we talked about in class...  the tunnels they built aren't there anymore to store the water. social ecology... Ah, the loafing off, or on, or just loafing???  Either way it was nice.  Woke up early for some fishing at San Pablo Dam.  We did not catch any fish, it was a bit cold and overcast with a bit of wind, but it was still nice.  Cooked a nice dinner and relaxed most of the day...

Distinguish between living and non-living systems...  Well, I would start most likely in trying to see if a water source is available, since everything we know is that life needs water to survive.  If water is present, than most likely there is some sort of life that is surviving there.  The life that may be there may also be naked to the human eye, so a closer look may be necessary. A pathway for the waste...  Well im not surprised, our trash goes pretty much everywhere we cant or don't want to see it, so why would it not end up in our food sources.  Those food sources may be in fields or like the british mussels, on the bottom of bodies of water.  We have whales, the largest creature living in oceans, choking and dying on hundreds of plastic bags that it ate.  So if its getting into other food sources for other living creatures, it makes sense it would be in ours also.

Our understanding of cancer...  I don't think our understanding of cancer is very good at all.  We do not have the ability to fight it directly and precisely, nor do have the greatest techniques to detect it.  I mean, we can find it after its been a problem for awhile, and we have some early detection skills, but that seems to be about it.  If we had a good understanding, we wouldn't be poisoning people with Chemotherapy for months on end, killing the whole body to kills a small number of cells. TCM approach to cancer...   TCM can use herbs and acutpuncture to go after the aria cells directly, and not attack the whole body.  It may not be the cure to cancer, but its not poisoning the whole body.
